The Process Technician for Powertrain will perform process sustaining tasks for the manufacturing line on a variety of mechanical and chemical processes including disposition of non-conforming materials that come from the manufacturing line, response to out-of-control process, work on yield improvement projects, and qualifying new equipment and processes that are being introduced into the manufacturing line. Perform supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, yield improvement, scrap reduction, material handling improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures. Manage workload with a positive attitude as a team player in a collaborative work environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Disposition of all non-conforming materials that are produced by the manufacturing line.
  • Day to day coverage of production line process, including rapid response on out-of-control processes to minimize cost and maximize productivity.
  • Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve process Cpk and product yield.
  • Maintain and help develop up-to-date manufacturing instructions.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives. Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure maintenance instructions and schedules are always available and current.
  • Summarize and analyze yield and process data.
  • Manage small projects involving multiple departments and/or outside contractors.
  • Manage workload with positive attitude and proactively help co-workers.

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate’s Degree on Electronic or some technical certificate is a plus.
  • Ability to manage workload while contributing to a positive, team oriented work environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems preferred.
  • Skilled with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools, as well as general machining and welding experience.
  • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, etc).
  • Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Available to work AWS.
