Job Details

Fife Council is ambitious for Fife, both for Fife Council communities and the Fife Council workforce of around 18,000 employees. More people need Fife Council support, and Fife Council is focused on reducing inequalities and increasing opportunities within an environment of decreasing resources. Fife Council’s vision is a confident, successful, and fairer Fife, and Fife Council employees are Fife Council’s greatest asset to deliver on Fife Council’s vision.

Fife Council is looking for a Project Manager to manage, develop and implement the Council’s Trauma-Informed Practice strategy. This will involve supporting the work of the Trauma Champions for Fife Council, NHS Fife, and Fife Health and Social Care Partnership, by providing project management support that will result in a trauma-informed workforce, capable of supporting children, young people, and adults affected by psychological trauma, improving access to services and achieving positive outcomes.

You will lead in the development of the strategy for implementation of the Scottish Psychological Trauma Plan in Fife, in consultation with key stakeholders.

You will provide focused leadership in determining the framework to identify changes required and to manage the agreed project(s), working collaboratively with key partners, at both operational and strategic levels, to ensure that a trauma-informed approach is integral to recovery and reform from the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, you will support the work of the Fife Trauma Steering Group in developing a model of shared resources and expertise for teams/services that the Trauma Champions have identified as priority areas for organizational change.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to develop their professional career in the field of Project Management by working alongside Fife Council, NHS, and Fife Health and Social Care Partnership colleagues through a time of significant change.

The post is based within the HR Workforce Strategy & Organisational Development Team.

This post attracts a range of benefits including relocation expenses, membership in the Local Government Pension Scheme, and flexible working arrangements.

The Person

Educated to a degree level, you will have substantial experience in project management, planning, and implementation. You will have effective communication skills, display strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to influence and challenge. The capacity to use these skills to work collaboratively and create strong relationships at all levels is essential.

You will have experience working on your initiative and as part of a wider team, which is focused on delivering outcomes. With a commitment to self-development and a focus on emerging trends, you will be a self-starter who is passionate about making a difference.

Experience of and understanding of what trauma-informed practice involves and the knowledge, skill, and value base needed to work with a trauma-informed approach is desirable.

The post requires an ability to work in complex and, at times, challenging systems. You will be comfortable with connecting across agencies, directorates, services, and hierarchies to ensure a collective response to the range of issues faced in all Directorates
