Fife Alcohol and Drug Partnership (FADP) is a strategic partnership of the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) with the accountability to reduce the prevalence, impact, and harms associated with problematic alcohol and drug use throughout Fife for individuals, children, young people, families, and communities. The partnership comprises senior officers of statutory authorities and representatives of the third sector agencies with an interest in or a shared responsibility in addressing the key themes below as outlined in the Fife Council local strategy and the National Drug and Alcohol Strategy “Rights, Respect and Recovery” 2018:

  • Prevention of problematic substance use involves working with young people.
  • Early Intervention to prevent worsening or development of harm will make recovery less challenging.
  • Recovery and treatment for those who have developed a physical and psychological dependence on substances.
  • Protection of children and young people affected by another’s use of substances.
  • Whole Population Approach to achieve and maintain health-supporting levels of alcohol consumption.

The ADP Committee is assisted by the ADP Support Team whose roles are to guide the ADP Committee in interpreting and implementing national strategy and policy on a local basis, identifying, analyzing, and providing recommendations to address the needs of the Fife population, and coordinating services and their delivery to create an effective and robust system of care both within the ADP and other partnerships.

The Person

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Fife ADP Support Team as the Database Support Coordinator with a focus on supporting policy and strategy development via the provision of good quality data and analysis. Key tasks will involve:

  • Maintaining and inputting local and national drug and alcohol databases including the Drug-Related Death database and DAIS (Drug and Alcohol Information System) and the ADP internal systems.
  • Providing training, support, and coordinating local responsibility to be compliant with all alcohol and drug national databases.
  • Gather data from various sources, briefly analyze and present this information to the ADP support team and the Multiple Drug Death Review Group, and Addressing Alcohol Specific Death Group to improve learning and service development.
  • Provide assistance with the production of ADP performance reports, including maintaining social media and the ADP internet page.
  • Provide administrative support to the ADP Support Team and ADP Committee as required
