Product & Supplier Data Manager

The Master Data function collects and maintains accurate product and supplier data from external and internal functions, so that it is available to support business processes throughout the typical retail lifecyle of a product ie Plan, Buy, Move, Sell, Exit.  This includes management of the supplier and product set up processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Management of the Data Admin team, providing support, ensuring team members are aware of and delivering against regular KPIs and ad hoc requests for information from the wider business.
  • Cross functional engagement with Trading, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Regulatory Affairs, Digital, Operations and external suppliers to ensure data is collected accurately and prioritised to meet specific business needs eg new product development and Range Reviews
  • Daily / Weekly reporting of KPIs
  • Tight control of data changes, understanding the impact to related data fields and business functions
  • Establish and document key cross functional business processes to inform our understanding of data flows between systems and departments
  • Ensurekey data entities are synchronised across systems, through implementation of business process and good data governance
  • Design & deliver continuous improvement projects as agreed with the Master Data Manager to improve consistency of product and supplier data across the business

  • Understanding of the retail lifecycle and the importance of accurate data throughout
  • Analytical, with the ability to understand complex information or concepts quickly and disseminate it internally and externally in an understandable way
  • Strong Excel skills (advanced)
  • Experienced in all other aspects of Microsoft – Word, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Logical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Comfortable working and managing a team in a hybrid way – both remotely and office based
  • Be confident to challenge and remove unnecessary processes that do not add value
  • Develop new and innovative ways of working that are fit for our internal teams and external customers.
