Minimum Qualifications/Employment Standards:

One year of experience as a cook in a full-service restaurant or an institutional kitchen preparing food in quantity 


One year of experience as a Food Service Worker II 


A combination of education, training and/or experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skills to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Full Job Description:

Examinations:Written (Weight 100%) Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of the methods of preparing food in large quantities and considerable variety; kitchen sanitation and food storage; and personal cleanliness and neatness.

Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the exam process.

This position works within various Kern County Departments.
