Nature of Position

The City of Alameda’s Housing and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a part-time professional to assist with the stewardship of two important community groups – Alameda Collaborative for Children, Youth and their Families (ACCYF) and the Social Service Human Relations Board (SSHRB). This person will be expected to collaborate with City staff from multiple departments as well as community stakeholders and community-based organizations to improve the collaboration and effectiveness of existing programming serving community members and marginalized populations. The part-time professional will be tasked with developing new initiatives while nurturing existing programs, helping to create community. The position's roles include: institutionalizing, supporting and managing regular working spaces in-person and virtually, chairing a youth-driven community board, recruiting individuals and organizations to contribute to and develop City-wide events and initiatives, narrative and quantitative report writing, grant writing, and networking and fostering community connections. 

The ideal candidate is a high energy person with a strong ability to build relationships, work independently, learn from others about what makes their community a good place to live, develop and implement action plans, and communicate both in person and in writing.
