Kind of Work

Inspectional, educational and consultative work in securing compliance with laws, ordinances and regulations governing municipal health sanitation standard; and related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Either: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university* and two (2) years of administrative experience.
Or:  Four (4) years of administrative experience in either the real estate industry, conducting real estate research, or legal assistance with responsibility for providing assistance to a legal administrator.
Or:  Two (2) years of real estate paralegal experience.
Or:  Permanent status with the City of New Orleans and two (2) years of experience performing work related to housing and health code enforcement at or above Pay Grade 54.

* Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.

Kind of Examination

A qualifying written examination, and a rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years. Promotional candidates are exempted from the qualifying written examination.
This is an original entrance and promotional examination.
