The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Program Management and Administration is looking for a long-term nonpermanent Accountant 3 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!


What You Will Be Doing: 

This position will be part of a team dedicated to tasks to complete the IRIS Fiscal year closeout activities for the IRIS Financial for the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. This position has substantial responsibility for providing technical accounting guidance and assistance to administrative staff access the department. The duties include but are not limited to troubleshoot IRIS errors with department staff; completing AJE transactions if needed; pull ALDER reports, and respond to information requests; and manage, track and process p-card transactions and other necessary transactions that must be completed for year-end closeout.

Our office is conveniently located at 3.5 mile in Juneau, next to SEARHC and close to DIPAC Macaulay Salmon Hatchery, a central location with plenty of parking and a view of the channel. Telework options are available.

Who we are looking for: 

The ideal candidate will possess the following position specific competencies: 

  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to interpret quantitative and qualitative data; includes data modeling, earned value management, and evaluating key financial indicators, trends, and historical data.

  • Auditing: Knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards and procedures for conducting financial and compliance, economy and efficiency, and program audits.

Minimum Qualifications

Competency Description

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible professional level experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial management.
